NOTE: The letter L is pronounced
over the whole Vènet territory especially when at the end
of a word or when next to another consonant. For example, moltón (ram, sheepskin, mutton), xlandrón (procrastinator), xlaparón (voracious), balbo (studderer), baldréska (scaffolding), el (the - masculine singular). Instead, when in between two
vowels, or at the beginning of a word, it is frequently substituted
by an £ (see next), depending on the dialect spoken.
For example, lu or £u (him), lóngo or £óngo (long), stèla or stè£a (splinter). In these cases, the L is predominantly
present in montaneous areas. |
